![]() I've had no problems doing it that way on two different motherboards for about seven years now. Idk about the NH-D15 specifically, but I have a Cooler Master Hyper 212X that I've always plugged the 1st fan into the CPU fan header, and the 2nd into the PUMP fan header. So my question is, is it okay if I plug the 2nd CPU fan back to the PUMP1 slot or should I look to manually tune the fan curves somehow? Or is there another solution for this? I'd like both my CPU fans running at the same RPM and I'm not very familiar with setting up my own fan curves, I like when it's either automatic or running in a preset made by the manufacturer. Now one CPU fan is way faster and way louder than the rest of the system and I don't like it at all. Overall the PC was very quiet and I loved it. What I was used to when my PC was idle was that both my CPU fans were running at ~200 RPM when Idle and the 2 case fans from Fractal Design I have were running at ~600 RPM + 3 GPU fans at either 0 RPM or 900 RPM in Quiet Preset in Precision X1. CPU fan plugged in CPU fan 1 is still runing at ~200RPM idle as it used to and the 2nd CPU fan is running at about 1000 RPM and when I turn on Smart Fan it's running at about 900 or something like that. So what I did is I turned off and completely unplugged my PC and I unplugged one CPU fan from PUMP1 and plugged it into System 5 and what happened is that the 2nd CPU fan (the one plugged as System fan) is running at very different RPM to the 1st one. Such cables are available in specialised retail stores. Alternatively, you can also use a 3-pin Y-cable in order to run both fans via the CPU-Fan header. When using 2 fans, please connect one of the fans to the CPU-Fan header and the second fan to one of the Case-Fan headers of your mainboard. What I did is I plugged the 2nd one in the PUMP1 slot initially and it worked but the official statement from Noctua is this: There is only one CPU1 slot for a CPU cooler on the motherboard. ![]() Noctua NH-D15 is a dual tower dual fan air cooler. Hello guys, I have a Noctua NH-D15 cooling an i7-9700KF paired with MSI Z390-A PRO.
